Digital Citizenship for Cyborgs and Avatars
A panel will share a variety of digital citizenship elements relating to changing digital culture, the need for metaliteracy, and ways digital citizenship can be advocated in virtual environments. The target audience is educators, learners, and anyone interested in utilizing virtual worlds for specific purposes. Examples of the need for digital citizenship will be featured as a personal responsibility for each of us.

Sheila Webber is a faculty member in the Information School (iSchool), University of Sheffield (UoS), UK, & an Honorary Fellow of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals. Her core teaching & research areas are Information Literacy and Information Behaviour. She has maintained the Information Literacy weblog http://information-literacy.blogspot.com since 2005.
Valerie Hill / Valibrarian Gregg
Valerie Hill, Director of the Community Virtual Library, is a library and information science educator with a research focus on the intersection of information literacy and global digital participatory culture. She has taught at all age levels, served as a school librarian, and is a National Writing Project trainer.
