SUMMARY:AI-Driven Case Study Characters in Virtual Worlds: How a Cancelled Application Led to a Better Teaching Tool
DESCRIPTION:Newly available artificial intelligence (AI) applications enable the creation of innovative teaching materials, including the creation of AI–driven case study characters for students to observe and question. Students exposed to AI case study characters during webinar class sessions overwhelming describe the experience as “more engaging” than typical PowerPoint slide illustrations. The specific AI character examples to be highlighted in this presentation include the Convai AI characters from Second Life and simulated AI characters in OpenSimulator (using the same features as the now “paused” AI characters in Second Life).\n\n
