{"id":115,"date":"2013-05-05T14:59:44","date_gmt":"2013-05-05T14:59:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/conference.opensimulator.org\/2013\/?page_id=115"},"modified":"2017-08-30T17:50:10","modified_gmt":"2017-08-30T17:50:10","slug":"login-info","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/conference.opensimulator.org\/2017\/login-info\/","title":{"rendered":"Login Info"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Connecting &amp; Logging In to the Conference Grid<\/h1>\n<p>To connect and log in to the conference grid you will need two things,\u00a0\u00a0an account, and a special client called a \u201cviewer\u201d. \u00a0Once you have your account information, you will need to configure your viewer to log into the conference\u00a0grid with the following address:<\/p>\n<p><strong>LOGIN\u00a0URI:<\/strong> \u00a0http:\/\/cc.opensimulator.org:8002<\/p>\n<p>See below for the steps to configure your viewer to log into the conference grid.<\/p>\n<h2>Account Types: \u00a0Which Do You Have?<\/h2>\n<p>There are two types of accounts that may be used to attend the conference, a <strong>local<\/strong> <strong>account<\/strong> or a <strong>hypergrid<\/strong> <strong>account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>LOCAL ACCOUNT: \u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0If you selected a\u00a0<strong>local account<\/strong> when you registered, you will have a first name and last name like \u201cJoe Smith\u201d. \u00a0You will need your full avatar name and the password that was emailed to you when your account was created to log into the conference grid. \u00a0If you have a local account from last year&#8217;s conference, you can log in with the same account and password you used last year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>HYPERGRID ACCOUNT: \u00a0<\/strong>If you selected a\u00a0<strong>hypergrid account\u00a0<\/strong>when you registered, your account will be in the\u00a0format\u00a0<strong>firstname.lastname@yourgrid.com:8002<\/strong>. \u00a0Hypergrid accounts will be able to hypergrid jump to the conference venue, but all scripts on hypergrid accounts will be blocked from entering or running on the conference grid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Refer to the email you received when you registered for the conference to see which type of account you selected.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">HELP! \u00a0I CAN&#8217;T FIND MY PASSWORD!<\/span> \u00a0<\/strong>The email was sent from the address opensimcc@gmail.com with the subject line &#8220;[<strong>OpenSimulator Community Conference 2017] Your <span class=\"il\">account&#8221;. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"il\">Y<\/span>ou may need to check your spam filter if you did not see the message, or\u00a0you can reset your account password using the <a href=\"http:\/\/cc.opensimulator.org:8005\/wifi\/forgotpassword?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forgot Your Password<\/a> link.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">HELP! \u00a0I CAN&#8217;T REMEMBER MY PASSWORD\u00a0FROM LAST YEAR!<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>You can reset your account password using the <a href=\"http:\/\/cc.opensimulator.org:8005\/wifi\/forgotpassword?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forgot Your Password<\/a> link.<\/p>\n<h2>Recommended Viewer<\/h2>\n<p>We recommend attendees use the \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.firestormviewer.org\/downloads\/\">64-bit Firestorm viewer<\/a>\u00a0to attend the conference.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>DOWNLOAD THE 64-BIT FIRESTORM\u00a0VIEWER<\/strong>: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.firestormviewer.org\/\">http:\/\/www.firestormviewer.org\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can also use other third-party viewers to access the conference grid, but for best performance, we recommend using a viewer that has native Mesh and Media-On-A-Prim (MOAP) support. \u00a0Older viewers such as Imprudence or Hippo will likely not result in the best experience or performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note that conference staff will not be able to provide support for any viewer other than the Firestorm Viewer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>LOCAL ACCOUNT LOGIN<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">After downloading and installing the \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.firestormviewer.org\/\">64-bit Firestorm viewer<\/a> , it will need to be configured to connect to the OpenSimulator Community Conference Grid:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Launch<\/strong> the Firestorm\u00a0viewer\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Click the <strong>Viewer<\/strong>-&gt;<strong>Preferences<\/strong>-&gt;<strong>OpenSim<\/strong>\u00a0button at the top left of the screen<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">You will see a &#8216;Add New Grid&#8217; field.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Paste<\/strong> this link into the field: \u00a0http:\/\/cc.opensimulator.org:8002<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Click the <strong>OK<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now that your viewer is configured to connect to the OpenSimulator Community Conference grid, you should be able to log in with your local account information.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enter your <strong>FULL AVATAR NAME<\/strong> in the Name or Username field. \u00a0This should be your First and Last Avatar name, separated by a space. \u00a0Example: \u00a0Jane Doe<\/li>\n<li>Enter your\u00a0<strong>password<\/strong> that was emailed to you when your account was created.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Grid pulldown menu<\/strong>, select the <em>OpenSimulator Community Conference<\/em> grid<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>Login<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You should arrive at a Landing Zone region with maps and signage to attend the conference.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">HELP!
